Scandinavian singer and actress Alba Adele August’s family background is a strong factor behind her career in the arts.
She was born on the 6th of June, 1993 to the famous director duo, Billy August, and Pernilla August who divorced a few years after her birth.
Alba August studied films in college as she graduated from Danish Performing Arts School and Malmo University.
Although her sister Asta August is also an actress, it was Alba who rightfully put Sweden on the map when it comes to movies. She has two other siblings, Anders Frithiof August and Agnes ÖStergren.
Alba August's net worth is estimated to be around $700,000. Thanks to a side career in music, she is able to earn better than many of her Swedish/Danish contemporaries.
Fluent in Danish, Swedish, and English, the 24-year-old has accomplished a fair bit in the world of acting.
August’s debut was as a child actor in one of her father’s films, ‘A Song for Martin’. Her global recognition though is a credit to her danish language Netflix series, ‘The Rain’ which premiered on the 4th of May, 2018.
Widely compared to ‘The Walking Dead’, ‘The Rain’ is considered Denmark’s answer to the former. It ran for 3 successful seasons, the final ending in 2020.
A lot of the critical acclaim of her acting career is thanks to the movie, ‘Becoming Astrid’. This film is based on the real-life of one of Sweden’s most loved authors, Astrid Lindgren. She was also nominated for Guldbagge Award for Best Actress.
In the same movie, she stars alongside Björn Gustafsson, with who she has been in a relationship with since 2019.
The couple had publicly admitted to being in love with each other during Guldbagge Film Festival that same year.
Although Björn Gustafsson reportedly said in an interview that they were no longer together, August’s Instagram account which has numerous recently taken pictures of him, suggest otherwise.
The ‘The Murders in Sandhamn’ actress has over 276k followers on Instagram. Her Instagram handle is @albadudle.
In 2019, she was seen in the crime thriller, ‘Quick’. A year later, her Swedish film, ‘Orca’ released where she played the character named Hanna.
Her next film which is still under post-production is titled, ‘Tuscind Timer’, in which she plays the lead role of Anna, a musician from Copenhagen who is on a journey to find love as well as herself.
