Barbara Smits (27th November 1955 - 16th April 2010) was the late ex-wife of the famous American award-winning actor, Jimmy Smits who passed away due to pneumonia and lung disease at the age of 54.

She shared two kids with Jimmy, Taina Smits, and Joaquin Smits. Both of them were graduates of Thomas Jefferson High School. The former couple stayed together after marriage for more than 6 years.
