Christopher William D'Elia is an American Standup comedian, writer, actor, and podcast host. He is Popularly known for his role as Alex Miller on the NBC sitcom Whitney and Kenny on the ABC television series, The Good Doctor. Besides this, Chris has also worked in some hits series like Undateable and You.

Born To Father Bill D'Elia and Mother Ellie D'Elia

Christopher William D'Elia was born on the 29th of March 1980 and raised in Montclair, New Jersey. He is 41 years old, and his zodiac sign is Aries. His father, Bill D'Elia, is a second-generation Italian-American, and his mother, Ellie D'Elia, is of Polish and Italian descent. Both of his parents are television producers and directors, and interior decorators. Chris grew up together with his younger brother Matt D'Elia. Chris's younger brother Matt is also an actor and a filmmaker. At the age of 12,  Chris moved to Los Angeles with his family, where he attended La Canada High School to complete his education. 

Professional Acting Career

Chris developed his interest in acting at a very young age while at his high school. He made his first appearance as a guest role in an American medical drama television series, Chicago Hope. He later attended New York University and studied acting there. Just after a year, he dropped out his school to continue his acting career. 

Chris also appeared in a movie that went straight to DVD. During his spare time as an actor, he showed interest in scriptwriting. Since 2006, he has been working as a standup comedy. 

Chris first performed as an actor at the Ha Ha Cafe in North Hollywood. Likewise, he also appeared in Comedy Central's Live at Gotham, Comedy Central Presents, and Showtime's Live Nude Comedy. He was introduced to a broad audience as a constant on the series Whitney, in which he appeared opposite comedian Whitney Cummings for two seasons. Chris also hosted the Ten Minute Podcast (2012-2015) with Bryan Callen and Will Sasso. 

In April 2018, D'Elia hosted the weekly podcast Congratulations, which has been reported in the top 20 comedy podcasts in multiple countries. His fans on the podcast are very fond of him. His Podcast, Like, The Fighter and the Kid, has been influenced by his way. Chris has gained around over 2 million followers on Vine.

In January 2013, Chris released his first parody rap album as MC "Chank Smith," called Such Is Life which Mr. Green produced. In April 2018, in one of his episodes of the Congratulations podcast, Chris emulated rapper Eminem and the fun of his middle-aged fans while admitting that Eminem was "one of the best rappers of all time."In August, it was globally announced that Chris would be replaced by Tig Notaro in Army of the Dead. Trailers were released in April 2021 with Notaro in place of Chris.

Chris married his wife, Emily Montague

Talking about his relationship, in 2006, Chris married an actress named Emily Montague, but grievously, the couple split up in 2010. 

Currently, Chris is in a relationship with his girlfriend, Kristin Taylor. In February 2020, the couple was blessed with a baby boy. He shared this news on his podcast "Congratulations." He is now living a happy life with his girlfriend Kristin in the Beachwood Canyon area of Los Angeles.

Allegations

In June 2020, Chris was charged with sexual harassment, grooming, and solicitation of nude pictures by multiple minor girls. Chris refused the allegations by saying that he neither "knowingly pursued any underage girl at any point" nor "met or exchanged any inappropriate pictures with the people who have tweeted about me."

Later, In 2011, Comedy Central removed the Workaholics episode "To Friend a Predator " because it featured Chris as a child molester who befriends the main character from their website, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video. And not just this, Comedy Central also removed Chris's 2013 standup unique White Male. Black Comic from their website. Due to this allegation, Chris, who was previously cast and shot a role in Army of the Dead, was replaced by Tig Notaro.
