Christine Ann Kapostasy-Jansing, aka Chris Jansing, is an American journalist and TV news correspondent who is currently serving as a Senior Correspondent for NBC News.

Jansing is the former NBC's Senior White House Correspondent from 2014 to January 20, 2017. Moreover, she is an Emmy award-winning journalist who has also worked with WNYT TV.

Early Life, Parents and Sibling of Chris Jansing 

Chris Jansing was born on January 30, 1957, in Fairport Harbor, Ohio, the United States of America. She was born to a Roman Catholic family. She is the youngest child of the 12 children of her parents, Joseph Kapostasy and Tilly Kapostasy. Chris is of Hungarian and Slovak descent.

As per Chris's date of birth, she belongs to the birth sign Aquarius. By nationality, she is an American and belongs to mixed ethnicity.

Talking about her education, Christine attended Otterbein College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978. Originally a political science major, Chris switched majors to broadcast journalism after working for the college radio station.

Chris Jansing is divorced and currently living a single life. Previously, she was married to her ex-husband, Robert Jansing, in 1982. Robert is a former chemist who ran an analytical chemistry laboratory.

Professional Career of Chris Jansing

After her graduation, Jansing pursued her career as an intern at a cable station in Columbus, Ohio. After that, she worked for a short stint at the WIPS radio station in Ticonderoga, New York. She then accepted a position as a general assignment reporter for WNYT television in Albany, New York, where she quickly rose to become the weekend anchor and then the weekly co-anchor.

Chris Jansing was reporting news for MSNBC. 

Chris stayed at WNYT for 17 years. In 1997, she won a New York Emmy Award for her coverage of the Olympic Park bombing in Atlanta. In 1997, she joined NBC News, at which point she began to use the last name of Jansing professionally instead of her maiden name of Kapostasy, which she had used before then. Chris has since anchored and reported for MSNBC and has been a substitute anchor for The Today Show and the Sunday version of NBC Nightly Shows.

In 2008, Jansing relocated to Los Angeles and worked as a field reporter for two years before returning as an anchor in 2010. She previously anchored the 10 am hour on MSNBC weekdays on Jansing and Company, with an American Journalist Richard Lui regularly serving as a correspondent and substitute anchor. On June 13, 2014, the show ended when Chris became NBC's Senior White House Correspondent.

On June 1, 2017, Chris Jansing was named a senior national correspondent for MsnbcC. As part of the role, Chris will continue to anchor the network's breaking news coverage alongside Brian Williams and provide coverage from Capitol Hill and the White House.
