Father Died of Heart Attack, Mother Remarried

Derick Dillard was born as Derick Michael Dillard on March 9, 1989, in Rogers, Arkansas. He was raised by his parents with his brother Daniel Dillard. Derick is the eldest one.

His father Richard "Rick" Dillard, who was a police officer at the Rogers Police Department, died from a heart attack at the age of 50 on January 18, 2008. Three years later on July 21, 2011, his mother Cathy Byrum then married another guy named Ronnie Byrum.

Derick studied at Oklahoma State University Oklahoma City. He joined the university in 2007 and completed his graduation in 2011.

The boyfriend-girlfriend duo was so much in love and in February of 2014, Derick decided to propose Jill. Derick sang a song "When He Made You" by Walker Hayes as he proposed her. Their engagement was featured on an 19 Kids and Counting episode "The Proposal".

In the same year on June 21, 2014, the love birds walked down the aisle in front of 1000 wedding guests. The nuptial was held on at Cross Church in Springdale, Arkansas.

Following the wedding, the husband-wife duo went for the honeymoon in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina.

Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar are parents to two children, sons Israel David Dillard, 9, and Samuel Scott Dillard, 10. Jill gave birth to Israel via a Caesarean section on April 6, 2015. His birth was featured on an 19KaC episode "Jill's Special Delivery".

In October 2021, the couple revealed that they had suffered a miscarriage. Just four months later on February 27, 2022, they announced through a blog that they are expecting another child. Yes, Jill is pregnant again.
