Erin Hawksworth was born as Erin Lynn Hawksworth on March 31, 1981, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to Canadian parents. Her father Mark Hawksworth was a Highschool baseball coach. She is the eldest child of her parents.

She grew up with her younger brother Blake Hawksworth in Sammamish, Washington, United States. His brother was a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers organization.

Her grandfather Jack Poole, was the head of the VANOC bid committee. He participated the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia.
