Born in Portland, Oregon

On August 18, 1975, Olson was born in Onin Portland, Oregon, the USA. She was born to her parents, father Donald Lee Olson, a publisher, and Melinda Leora, a nurse. Shortly after her birth, Olson moved with her family to Spokane, Washington, then to Vashon Island, Washington, in Puget Sound, Seattle, where she lived until she was eight. Later her family relocated back to the Portland area, settling in Tualatin, where Kaitlin grew up on a farm.

The Brickleberry actress graduated from Tigard High School in Tigard, Oregon, in 1993. Furthermore, she studied theatre at the University of Oregon and earned a Bachelor's degree in theatre arts in 1997.

Professional Career of Kaitlin Olson

Kaitlin was a member of the Los Angeles, California-based school The Groundlings Sunday Company along with Dax Sheppard. She toured with the United Service Organization Inc (USO) to Bosnia, Kosovo and Norway.

Olson made many guest appearances in films and tv series such as The Drew Carey, The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Family Guy, Miss Match, Punk'd and Out of Practice.

In 2004, Olson was cast as Deandra "Sweet Dee" Reynolds in the FX sitcom. It's  Always Sunny in Philadelphia and had voiced Ethel in the first season of the Comedy Central animated series Brickleberry.

In the 2003 film The Heat, Olson appeared as a Bulgarian druggie who engages in an exchange of cultural perspectives and insults with Melissa McCarthy's character. Olson played a recurring role as Hartley Underwood, the "one-armed" neighbor of the FX series The Riches.

In June 2016, the largest LGBTQ advocacy group, the Human Rights Campaign released a video in tribute to the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting; in the video, Kaitlin, with others, told the stories of the people killed there. Also, in 2016, she provided the voice of Destiny in Walt Disney's Finding Dory.

Kaitlin married American actor, director, and producer Rob McElhenney on 27th September 2008 in California. They have two kids, Axel Lee McElhenney (1st September 2010) and Leo Grey McElhenney (5th April 2012).

When Kaitlin Olson was 12 years old, she met with a horrific bike accident which resulted in a hole in her head. Kaitlin explains that she had a terrific experience dealing with it when she had to go through multiple reconstructive surgeries. Due to the accident, Olson had to go through a tragic time in her life; she had to shave her head and had a swollen face with a huge scar. 

In addition, the Flipped star used to be bullied a lot by her schoolmates during that time. Some were very kind to her, whereas some kids were very mean to her. She added that a kid named Casey Johnson used to throw jelly beans at her trying to get them into the hole in her head while being in a lunch queue. It was difficult for a 12-year-old girl to handle all that misery.
