Lala Kent was born on September 2, 1990, in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, to father Kent Burningham and mother Lisa Burningham. Details about Kent's siblings have not been revealed but it seems the reality star is the only child of her parents. She was serving as a hostess at SUR restaurant before she appeared on the show.

Lala Kent was previously in a relationship with renowned film and television producer Randall Emmett. The couple met on the set of Venderpump Rules season 5 in 2014 started dating shortly after that.

The two announced in 2018 that they had their engagement earlier that year. Kent and Emmett were set to get married in April 2020 but due to the coronavirus pandemic, they postponed their wedding.

Sources confirmed in November 2021 that Kent and Emmett were no more together. The reason behind their breakup was cited as Emmett cheating on Kent with another woman.
