Lori Stokes is an American Emmy award-winning journalist, reporter, news anchor. Currently, she is working as a co-host on a show called Good Day New York on Fox 5 NY WNYW. 

Previously, Stokes has served for decades in several news networks including WCIA in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois; WBTV, Charlotte; WBFF-TV; WJLA-TV; and many more.

Bio, Parents & Siblings:

The American journalist, Stokes came into the world on 16th September 1962 in Cleveland, Ohio, the United States. She is one of the four children of her parents, Louis Stokes and Jay Stokes.

As siblings, she shared her childhood experiences with Angela R., Chuck, and Shelly Stokers-Hammond. As per her DOB, she belongs to the birth sign Virgo. By nationality, she is an American and belongs to the Afro-American ethnicity.

Firstly, Stokes attended John F. Kennedy High School (Maryland). After that, she enrolled at Ohio State University. Later, she joined Howard University where she majored in broadcast journalism.

Their wedding ceremony was held in September 1990 at the Dunbarton Chapel located at the Howard University Van Ness Campus. 

They together welcomed two children named Nicolette Thompson and Alexandra Thompson. Unfortunately, the ex-couple had to end their marriage with a divorce due to irreconcilable differences.

Career as a journalist:

In the beginning, Stokes kicked off her journalism career as a medical reporter and weekend co-anchor at WCIA in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois in 1986. After that, she worked for three years as a reporter and weekend anchor for WBTV, Charlotte. Moreover, the Emmy award-winning journalist served as a crime and street reporter for WBFF-TV as well as a full-time anchor for WJLA-TV.

She stepped towards her biggest success when she joined MSNBC and worked there as an anchor, newsreader and covered various important incidents including the Columbine High School Massacre and the death of John F. Kennedy Jr. Recently, she left WABC, Eyewitness News after working there for 17 years in August 2017.

The MSNBC reporter is an Emmy Award winner who was nominated for the same award in 2006 too. Additionally, she even won the George P. Foster Peabody Award and was named a 'Woman of Influence' by Commerce Magazine.
