Marge Cooney is a celebrity figure who is better known as the ex-wife or first wife of the American media personality, writer, film producer, and creator, and show host, Philip John Donahue aka Phil Donahue.

Marge Cooney wedded her soulmate, Philip John Donahue on 1st February 1958 in one of the oldest cathedrals in the US, San Felipe de Neri, New Mexico. Phil Donahue (21st December 1935) is an American media personality, writer, film producer, and creator, and show host. 

The former couple first met while studying at the University of Notre Dame. He came across a man, Jim Cooney who came to be Marge's brother, introduced Cooney to Philip and he fell in love with her at first sight. They began dating each other and soon after became engaged. 

Parents of Five Children:

The ex-couple became a proud parent to their five children: Michael Donahue (30th January 1959), Kevin Donahue (9th December 1959), Daniel Donahue (1963), James Patrick (1963), and Mary Rose Donahue (1965). Sadly, James "Jim" passed away in 2014 at the age of 51 but the reason for his death is not disclosed.

Divorce and Remarriage:

The couple stayed together for 15 years and in 1973, they decided to go their separate ways. In 1975, the divorce was finalized giving the sole custody of four sons to Phil and Margaret had the custody of her daughter Mary. After their divorce, Donahue tied the wedding knot with Marlo Thomas on 21st May 1980. They together don't have any kids, furthermore, she became the stepmother to Phill's children.

Cooney is still alive and living a healthy and prosperous life. After her divorce from Donahue, she is living a low-key life, away from the limelight. However, people have mistakenly considered her dead in 2018, but that woman was Margaret M. Cooney who died on 4th December 2018 at the age of 90.
