Philip Alan Hosterman - Dove Cameron's Late Father

Philip Alan Hosterman (22nd July 1944 - 18th October 2011) was an American musician, adventurer, and artist who was the father of Descendant actress and singer, Dove Cameron.

In fact, the Emmy Award-winning actress, Dove is best known for her dual role as Liv Rooney/Maddie Rooney in the Disney Channel film, Liv and Maddie (2013-17). 

Biography of Mr. Hosterman:

The American musician, adventurer, and artist, Philip Alan Hosterman was born on 22nd July 1944 in Seattle, Washington D.C., the United States of America. 

He was the son of Philippe Taylor Hosterman and Florence Alma Hosterman. He grew up along with his siblings: Michael Hosterman and Mary Lyn Kappert. Likewise, he attended St. Edward and O' Dea High School. 

Professional Life & Career:

There is not much information about his profession but his daughter has a big fame in the entertainment industry. Dove is famous for her dual role in the Disney Channel comedy series, Liv and Maddie (2013-17). 

She has also starred in TV Films including Descendants (2015), Descendants 2 (2017), Descendants 3 (2019), The Angry Birds Movie 2 (2019), Schmigadoon! (2021), and so on. Cameron has won a Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series in 2018 and a Kids' Choice Awards for Favorite Movie Actress in 2020. 

Personal Life & Past Relationships:

Late Philip Alan Hosterman was married to an American author named Bonnie Wallace in 1988 in Peshawar, Pakistan. The former couple welcomed two beautiful daughters named Dove Cameron (15th January 1996) and Claire Hosterman (10th March 1989). 

His elder daughter, Dove is an American actress and singer. Unfortunately, the couple couldn't continue their marriage for long due to his death. They were together for 23 years.

Cause of Death:

Hosterman committed suicide on 18th October 2011 at the age of 67 years. His daughter, Dove was 15 years old when he committed suicide which had a bad impact on her life. She changed her name to Dove in honor of her father who called her by that nickname.
