Serious Bicycle Accident At Young Age

Kaitlin Olson was born on August 18, 1975, in Portland, Oregon, the United States. Following her birth, she moved to Spokane, Washington with her parents. She lived there until she turned eight and then relocated to a farm in Portland.

Her father Donald Lee Olson is a publisher and has worked for Portland Tribune from 2000 to 2001. Meanwhile, her mother Melinda Leora is a nurse.

At the age of 12, Olson had a serious bicycle accident with a vehicle that resulted in a skull fracture. She had to undergo reconstructive surgery following the accident.

As for her educational background, Olson completed her graduation from Tigard High School in Tigard, Oregon in 1993. She then attended the University of Oregon from where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in theater arts in 1997.

Following her graduation from the University of Oregon, Kaitlin Olson moved to Los Angeles where she started acting professionally. Initially she made several guest appearances in a few films and television series like Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, The Drew Carey Show, Miss Match, Out of PracticeCoyote Ugly, Punk'd and Family Guy.

Olson has been an important cast of the FX comedy sitcom, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, since 2005. She portrays Deandra "Sweet Dee" Reynolds in the show alongside Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and her husband Rob McElhenney.

She has also played a recurring role of Hartley Underwood in the FX series The Riches. In June 2016, Olson oped up about the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting in a video by the Human Rights Campaign.

Olson appeared in the Fox sitcom The Mick in January 2017 and reappeared in its second season but Fox later canceled the series after its second season.

Olson has been married to her It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-star, Rob McElhenney. The coupe started dating secretly in 2006 when the second season of the FX series was airing. Two years later on September 27, 2008, the couple tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in California.

Olson and McElhenney are parents to two children, sons Axel Lee, born on September 1, 2010, and Leo Grey McElhenney, born on April 5, 2012. When Olson was pregnant with her second child, she went into labor during a game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers in California.
