Pauline Chalamet is a versatile American actress, writer, and director who rose to fame with her debut comedy feature film The King of Staten Island, directed by Judd Apatow, in 2020.  She again came into the limelight when she appeared as Kimberly Finkle in the HBO Max comedy series, The Sex Lives of College Girls, alongside Reneé Rapp, Amrit Kaur and Alyah Chanelle Scott.

Born to Dancer Mom and Editor Dad

Pauline Chalamet was born on January 25, 1992, in New York City, United States, to parents Marc Chalamet and Nicole Flender.

Her father is an editor for UNICEF and has also worked as a New York correspondent for Le Parisien. Meanwhile, her mother is a real estate broker and a former Broadway dancer.

Chalamet was raised with his younger brother Timothée Chalamet, who is also an actor. She is of Russian-Jewish and half Austrian-Jewish descent from her mother's side.

Studied Theater Acting At Bard College

Chalamet was only 10 years old when she danced in Broadway's A Midsummer Night's Dream. She studied dance at the School of American Ballet from 2001 to 2010.

She then joined Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School and graduated from there in 2010. She then learned acting at Bard College. She graduated with a double major in theater and political studies from the college in 2014. 

When she was in her school, she used to work at the school library to pay off her student loans.

Portrayed Kimberly in The Sex Lives of College Girls

Chalamet initially played small roles in numerous television shows including One Life to Live and Royal Pains. She then appeared in multiple short films such as Je Suis Mes Actes and Between Fear and Laughter, which were written and directed by herself.

In 2020, Chalamet made her feature film debut with the role of Joanne in Judd Apatow's comedy film, The King of Staten Island.

In the same year, she was cast for the role of Kimberly in the HBO Max series, The Sex Lives of College Girls, starring Reneé Rapp, Amrit Kaur and Alyah Chanelle Scott. The show was premiered in 2021. The storyline of the show runs around four roommates who navigate their freedom in Essex College. Season 2 of the show is coming soon.

Is She Dating a Boyfriend?

Chalamet seems to be pretty secretive about her relationship status. She has not disclosed whether or not she is dating a boyfriend.

Scrolling down her Instagram account, we don't find her posting a photo with any guy who we could assume to be her boyfriend or husband. However, she has once posted a photo of a kid but we could not say she is the mother of that kid.
